Q&A: How do I find an honest mechanic to do a tune-up on my Volkwagen Bug automobile?
Question by Ted Bundy: How do I find an honest mechanic to do a tune-up on my Volkwagen Bug automobile?
I want them to do a good job at a reasonable price. Oh, and it has to be someone who won’t ask a lot of nosy questions or look in the trunk when I’m not there.

well you have to find a shop that has good results. ask your friends or neighbors who are in to cars. if u dont want them to look in the trunk, than why dont you lock the trunk?

Ask around. Talk with friends and neighbors.
Wow, either you’re efficient, or maybe the new trunks on bugs can hold body bags…
well first off is it a new bug or old bug? 2nd off there are two types of tune ups for the older bugs and that would be MInor or Major tune.(I don’t know the new bugs though)Plus knowing where you are would help out alot
Lots of mechanics CAN work on bugs and are reasonable.
Truth is not many mechanics like working on Bugs. Especially the old ones. The customers are usually pretentious worry warts, so we tend to charge more. and no you really dont have to worry about whats in your trunk. most of us could care less.
I suggest finding a local shop that specializes in VW. They are more apt and used to handling people of your kind.
